Why readers binge it
The blurb is a compressed revenge fantasy, and it wastes no time. Evelyn expects a proposal from Liam; Liam kneels for her stepsister Samantha instead. Then Evelyn learns her parents have already sold one daughter to Alexander, the War God Alpha, rumoured scarred and crippled after an accident, and the family has decided the spare daughter can absorb the damage. Alexander turns up uninjured, handsome and a billionaire. Samantha wants the deal back. Alexander says, in public, that Evelyn is the only woman he will ever marry.
That is three humiliations reversed inside one chapter, which is why GoodNovel tags it Face-Slapping. The tag is literal: the serial runs on the stepsister and the ex being slapped, socially, over and over. The arranged marriage is the alibi. Nobody reads 323 chapters to see whether a contract holds. They read to see how early the "arranged" part stops being true.
What I find interesting is the "crippled alpha" rumour. It is a marriage-of-convenience device, the ugly-duke trick from Regency romance, dropped into a pack setting where an alpha's body is his rank. The rumour is a lie about his face and, underneath that, a lie about whether he can still hold territory. So when he walks in whole, the plot has revealed a political fact, not a pretty one.
